1. People do business(employ, recommend, refer, deal) with those they: Know, Love, & Trust… If people don’t know you for something specific they may not do business with you. If you are not a kind, caring, admirable person with pleasing personality, people may never deal with you. Being likeable is a great asset. If you cannot be trusted in business, you have no business, your credibility is key to survival. “In this age, trust is the new currency for riches”. Can you be trusted?
2. As the world becomes noisier with each passing day and content fatigue with overloaded information setting in, if you don’t position yourself as a brand and build strong reputation for yourself, you will be drowned in the noise. Haven’t you noticed how people are cramming the social media platforms for attention(tags, likes, shares, retweets, blogs, pictures, etc) daily? Doing all they can for attention. If you consciously build your brand steadily overtime, you will become a go-to-person amidst the noise. Let your voice be heard. “Don’t seek to be the loudest voice in the room but rather a clear distinctive voice” ~ Bernard Kelvin Clive
3. If you are not a brand then guess what; you are a commodity, and commodities rarely do get noticed. They are treated less and receive less of value. Your uniqueness in little areas matters. It’s your difference that the world is seeking after not your similarities. The world is looking for experts and not generalists.
Now, Go make it happen.
